About Century Club
About US
The Century Club was registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 on the 11th August 1933.The foundation stone was laid by His Exellency LORD ERSKINE, C.C.L.E. on the 20th December 1934.
The Object of the Club shall be:To provide for the Sporting, Social and Literary amenities to the Members of the Club.
To prepeturate the names of any of the patrons of the Club in any manner Governing Body may, with the approval of the Members, from time to time determine.
To diffuse useful knowledge among the Members and To do such other things as are incidental to the attainment of the above objects.
This Club was established in the year 1934 as Society Club and later known as “IZZAT ASAR BALASURYA PRASADA RAO CENTURY CLUB” (I.B.P. Century Club, Visakhapatnam). The Club founded by the eminent people like Jayapore Maharaja of those days. The Century Club is one of the most prestigious Clubs in South India and having affiliation with most reputed Clubs situated in all over India. At present more than 1400 people are having Life, Regular and Honorary Memberships of this Club. This Club Members from all walks of life i.e. Doctors, Lawyers, Professors, Engineers, Business people, Builders, TOP Sports People and others having social status in the Society. Hon’ble Ministers, IAS, IPS, Senior Government Officials and Sports personalities like Karanam Malleswari (Weight Lifting), Neelam Setty Lakshmi (Arjun Awardee) (Weight Lifting), Manikyalu, M.V., Rami Reddy N., Prasada Rao. E., Saket Sai Myneni. Asian Champion (Shuttle Badminton), I. Venkateswara Rao (International Coach for Boxing) and many more are having Honorary Membership of the Club.
The amenities that are available in the Club are as under:
The Club is promoting Sporting activities. All India Lawn Tennis Tournaments conducted by this Club and famous players who are world rankers like Alex Motreveli (Russia) Gulyas (Hungary), Amritraj & Jaideep Mukerjee. The IPS, IAS officials and Doctors are playing Tennis in the morning and in the evening and continue upto 8.00 P.M. under the Flood Lights. Also we are conducting coaching classes for making good players. Nearly 300 Members who are availing the facilities of Senior Citizen Recreations Halls and spending their time and relaxing to rejuvenate their minds and bodies. Various Sports, Social, Cultural, Leterary activities are being conducted for families and children of the Members. All the events which are taking place in the Club are being attended by the Families and Children of the Members in good number.
